This popular oval tube is cold-formed from 38.1 mm (1½") OD round tube (widely used for circular handrail), into an ergonomic 47 × 25mm oval section. Typical applications include handrails, grab rails, door hardware, marine railings, furniture and OEM components.
For applications specifying 50 × 25mm oval tube, our 47 × 25mm profile is often used as a near-size alternative in stainless steel, with a choice of wall thicknesses and finishes. Compatibility with existing brackets, fittings or assemblies should be checked for the individual application. 47 x 25mm oval tube samples may be available upon request.
The hollow section is comfortable to grip, and more refined than angular 50 x 25mm rectangular box section, and a lightweight alternative to solid bar. Its elegant form can house fixings, inserts, cabling or other components.
Timeless Tube holds bending tooling for 47 × 25mm oval tube, enabling both sweeping curves and fixed-radius bends in either plane. For applications requiring extensive or tighter-radius bending, we may recommend a 2mm wall thickness to improve forming performance.
