Our 23.5 × 13.3mm stainless steel oval tube is cold-formed from welded 19.05 mm (¾") OD round tube into a compact, ergonomic oval hollow section. This small oval tube is particularly suited to handrails, grab rails, handles, furniture, retail display rails and architectural components where a comfortable, reduced-width gripping profile is required.
For specifications calling for 25 × 12mm or 1" × ½" oval tube, our 23.5 × 13.3mm profile may provide a suitable stainless steel near-size. Its gentle radiuses make it a safer, more attractive alternative to 20 x 15mm box section. It has been also been used as a lighter, less expensive alternative to solid bar.
One of our most frequently manufactured oval profiles, this stainless steel tube profile is produced predominantly in 316L stainless steel, with 304 stainless steel, different wall thicknesses and a range of surface finishes also available.
Timeless Tube has dedicated bending tooling for this profile, allowing the tube to be formed into curved and bent components while maintaining its distinctive oval section. We also offer cast connectors designed for our oval tube, providing a practical solution for joining sections in handrails and other fabricated assemblies. Further processing including laser cutting and fabrication is also available.
We also manufacture a 23 × 12mm flat-sided oval (FSO) from the same 19.05mm starting round tube, providing an alternative where a flat face is useful for mounting or fixing.
The hollow section provides a lightweight alternative to solid stainless steel bar, while retaining internal space for fixings, inserts or concealed components. If you would like to use this thin-walled tube for aerospace applications or conduit, we can form this tube from seamless stainless steel tubing or other free-issued specialist grades.
