One of London's most exciting new venues Bacchanalia showcases the best of British architectural metalwork in the exquisite new establishment - a resplendent Greek Mediterranean restaurant which opened in Mayfair November 2022. Specialists in bespoke drapery hardware, Tillys Interiors, fabricated stunning brass ‘café curtains’ using Timeless’s 28x28x1.6mm twisted square tube for the supporting poles. The poles were topped with flame-shaped finials evocative of a Greco-Roman design seen throughout the venue.
Tillys’ client, prestigious architectural practice Martin Brudnizki Studio, supplied the renowned British hardware specialists with 2D sketches of the ornate café curtain design. After considering a rope twist pole, the architects preferred the aesthetics of the twisted square brass when presented with a sample of the profile. Timeless formed the square with a tight twist cut into several lengths. These lengths were supplied to Tillys with a mill finish so their in-house finishes team could apply their own antique brass finish.
Tillys designed and manufactured the elegant flame-shaped finials, first 3D printing a sample from resin for approval before the decorative flourishes were cast in brass.
A steel rod was inserted in the inside of the tube which fixed to each finial. This gave the CZ108 brass poles added robustness. The demanding specification also required Tillys to insert a recessed LED strip just above the curtain, creating an atmospheric glow.
“Timeless were a pleasure to work with on this project, providing excellent support throughout the specification and order stages – and of course supplying an impeccable final product. With their help, we were able to deliver on this unique design and we look forward to future collaborations to create truly bespoke interiors.”
