'Powerhouse' German weld cleaning product uses oval tube for strength, ergonomics, safety and aesthetics

Timeless Tube has supported German manufacturer Reuter: Magic Metal Works in the launch of its world-leading SuperCleanox 6.0 and 8.0 weld cleaning systems unveiled at Tube Düsseldorf (April 2026).

Known as ‘The Powerhouse’, the SuperCleanox 8.0 is currently the most powerful weld seam cleaning device in the world, delivering 250A continuous current and pulse currents of up to 1300A.

Oval tube handles: strong, streamlined, secure and stylish

Working collaboratively from prototype through to production, Timeless Tube supplied stainless steel oval tube carry handles that also function as protective guards for switches and cable connections. The laser-cut components made from 23.5 x 13.3 x 1.5mm oval tubes were formed to tight tolerances, ensuring a precise and reliable fit with the plastic housings.

“The new SuperCleanox systems are designed for demanding industrial environments, where efficiency, reliability and usability are critical,” said Olaf Reuter, CEO of Reuter. “The lightweight yet robust oval tube handles provide excellent ergonomics, aesthetics and strength. We rejected circular tube handles during testing because users' hands easily rotated around the tube, plus they protruded from the unit. And we rejected box section handles as they didn't look good. Oval tube handles offered a secure grip in an attractive, space-efficient form".

Stainless steel tubes: strong and easy-to-maintain

Reuter selected stainless steel for two main reasons: it is stronger than aluminium, providing robust guarding for critical components, plus the attractive brushed finish did not require any additional protective coating. "Stainless steel tubular components are ideal for premium machinery and equipment such as the SuperCleanox systems. They are hard-wearing and easy to maintain" said Tom McMillan, MD of Timeless Tube.

"In addition to this, non-circular tube shapes typically offer significant deflection strength over round tubes of the same size. The oval profile will provide better protection than a similar-sized circular tube" added Tom McMillan.

Low minimum order quantities enable batch production and prototyping

Timeless Tube supplied Reuter with a range of sample tubes, which allowed Reuter's engineers to select the optimal profile and finish for the handles during prototyping. The low minimum order quantity and short lead time also means that Reuter can receive the tubing in smaller batches for repeat orders.
